Lake Bluff Pool Opening with Phase 4
Updated: Jun 25
Amid a summer of Covid-19 closings and cancellations, the Lake Bluff Park
District staff is making preparations and training lifeguards to open their outdoor pool in Phase 4 of JB Pritzker’s Restore Illinois plan. On Monday Night, the Park District Board committed to the residents that they will open the pool if there is enough interest from the community. That interest needs to come in the format of paid memberships totaling at least $75,000 to make opening the pool worthwhile. They are well on their way.
The pool features 25 yard and 50 meter lap lanes as well as a diving well and tot pool.
Operations will be different this year, running a staggered schedule for entry with disinfection procedures every 2 hours for 30 minutes. Superintendent of Recreation Jim Lakeman guarantees: “Staff is taking every safety precaution and will be following IDPH guidelines every step of the way to ensure a safe and fun summer at the pool.”
