LF/LB Businesses Reopening with Restrictions
Restaurants prepare for outdoor dining On May 29, Illinois enters Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois plan, and the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce is excited to share information regarding local businesses that are beginning the reopening process. More than 20 area restaurants will offer outdoor dining and many other businesses will open with modified operations and safety guidance in place, including Health and Fitness Centers, Offices, Personal Care Services, Retail, Outdoor Recreation, Service Counters, Day Camps, Youth Sports and Manufacturing. Details and links to the safety precautions each industry must take can be found on the Chamber’s website. The Restaurant safety guidelines put in place by the State of Illinois include:
Outdoor dining and/or drinking only
Parties of 6 persons or fewer
Proper social distancing of 6-ft and/or barriers between tables
Employees must wear face coverings over the nose and mouth and wash hands frequently; gloves are to be worn by those preparing food
Readily available hand washing or hand sanitizing for employees and customers
"To say we are thrilled to be re-opening, albeit cautiously, is an understatement," said Deer Path Inn's General Manager, Matt Barba. "We feel alive again and are willing to jump through whatever hoops necessary to safely serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, outdoors, to our guests. All dining will be by reservation only at this time and we are following all recommendations from the state and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in addition to our own rigorous protocols, to best ensure the health and well-being of our employees and our guests. Dining may look and feel a little different but being of service is at the heart of what we do and we cannot wait to put on our masks and gloves and get back to work."

“While the past months have had new challenges, we cannot be more proud of our community and the support they have shown us,” said John des Rosiers, owner of Inovasi and The Otherdoor in Lake Bluff. “Their feedback and input have even shaped our business plans for the future. What we miss most is seeing our loyal fans, and we are thrilled to get back to serving them!” “The Lake Forest and Lake Bluff communities have been so supportive of our local businesses, especially during this challenging time,” said Joanna Rolek, LF/LB Chamber Executive Director. “Business owners have been through a lot the past few weeks, and they have worked tirelessly to adapt to the changing conditions so they can once again serve their customers,” she added. “As always, we encourage customers to share feedback directly with the business owners or managers…they appreciate your patience and want to hear about your experience as we navigate this new normal.” Visit https://www.lflbchamber.com/now-open-for-business/ for a continually updated list of retail and service businesses ready to serve customers.
