Sunrise Beach Seeks Volunteers

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

From the Lake Bluff Park District, 4/10/2020:

In order to assist our residents in maintaining their physical and mental health during these trying times, the Park Board has elected to keep the Sunrise Park & Beach open. The beach will remain open provided that proper social distancing rules are followed.

Please avoid the temptation of socializing or gathering at the beach. It should be used only for walking and running. We have observed several instances of people climbing on the rocks and groups gathering. Please make sure your children and or teens also know to follow proper social distancing practices.

If we work together, we can ensure that this beautiful facility will be there for us throughout this challenging time. We encourage you to visit the beach, practice social distancing and enjoy everything it has to offer.

We Need Your Help at Sunrise Beach

Social distancing has become an important part of our lives today. As the warm weather arrives, more people will want to get out and enjoy Sunrise Beach.

The Park District has been monitoring the beach during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, due to a reduction in staff, we are asking for members of the community to assist. It is our goal to keep this most prized facility open throughout this challenging time, but we need your help.

We need assistance to help overseeing the facility to ensure that proper social distancing practices are followed. From the hours of 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM we are looking for people willing to spend time at the beach and discourage large groups from congregating. The Park District will provide training and guidance on how you can promote safety and help protect the community.

Any time you can donate is appreciated and will help our community stay safe. Contact Jim Lakeman at 847-457-7343 or jlakeman@lakebluffparkdistrict.org for more information, available times and to volunteer.
