Union Church to Host Lake Bluff Treasures Hunt

Lake Bluff has many treasures – beautiful parks, beautiful homes, but most important, beautiful people.

On Sunday, Sept 13, the Union Church of Lake Bluff (UCLB) will be sponsoring a Lake Bluff Treasures Hunt as part of our kickoff Sunday. This walking/ biking hunt will take you through East Lake Bluff, following clues to find unique Lake Bluff treasures.

"In a normal year, Kickoff Sunday is the day we come together as a community after a lazy summer to celebrate the beginning of another Sunday School year," says Pastor Mark Hindman. "But this year is anything but normal. So the Treasures Hunt is a fun way for us to come together as a community while staying safely apart."

All families are welcome to join the Treasures Hunt, and you may participate at your leisure throughout the day. The hunt will begin at the UCLB Courtyard at 525 E. Prospect Avenue, Lake Bluff. Stop by between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to pick up your clues and special surprises. Then stroll through town looking for treasures, which will be marked by a UCLB stone. All treasures are located in East Lake Bluff and within easy walking or biking distance from the church. (Kids may want to time themselves to see how quickly they can find them all!)

All friends are welcome! Please let us know if you'd like to join the hunt so that we know how many groups/ families to expect. Send a quick note to tracy@uclb.org.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, UCLB has moved all of its services, Christian Education classes, and group discussions online, and will continue to do so until it's safe to be together again.
