Village Looks to Tighten Special Events Restrictions
The Lake Bluff Board of Trustees is hosting a Committee of the Whole meeting on Thursday, August 6 at 7 p.m. to discuss special events regulations on village-owned property.
The meeting is being held because many organizations want to host events on the village green and other public properties during the COVID-19 pandemic -- for everything from outdoor church services to yoga classes to outdoor dining to social events. According to the COW agenda, the village is looking “to adopt a more comprehensive and formal process to better enable the Village to plan for such events, avoid scheduling conflicts, and to protect the public safety.”
Thursday’s COW meeting is open to the public . It will primarily be held virtually because of COVID-19. You can watch and participate in the meeting online at lakebluff.org/VirtualMeeting. Dial in at 312-626-6799 and enter the meeting ID: 884 1619 0394. Press # when prompted for a participant ID. Instructions are in the agenda link here.
You can also watch it live-streamed at lakebluff.org/channel19, as well as on Comcast Channel 19. A recording of the meeting will be available on the village website in the not-to-distant future.
A limited number of people may watch the virtual meeting at Village Hall – read the first paragraph of the agenda at this link for the details.
After the COW meeting on Thursday, it’s likely the Village Board will discuss the issue at its next meeting on Monday, August 10.
